Discover excellence at the Academy of Saint Joseph of the Palisades.
The 2015-2016 academic year is one of great significance in the history of our school. We will embark on our first full year as an academy. This milestone is a wonderful testament to the collaborative efforts of our administration, faculty, students, parents, and school community in its continual pursuit of quality education for students in the Hudson County area. The foundation of our transition to academy status has been the expansion of course offerings and the utilization of technology to facilitate learning. We have grown as educators and our students have blossomed while acquiring 21st Century learning skills.
The blended learning model is a key feature of our upper grade curriculum. We have embraced this model in order to prepare our students to move from elementary school to high school. In addition to the traditional curriculum, our 8th grade students will take sociology and writing and research courses offered in collaboration with Union Catholic High School. 7th and 8th grade students will begin Cisco Training/Certification courses. These courses will be delivered through a virtual classroom setting.
Technology is utilized to instruct, inform, and improve student achievement. We continue to pursue the expansion of our advanced curriculum offerings. This would not be possible without the commitment to our mission:
The Academy of St. Joseph of the Palisades strives to provide God’s children with a Catholic education that instills life-long learning. Our goal, as educators, is to incorporate an active faith and solid morals within a strong community that is diverse and accepting.
In all that we do, the administration and faculty respect and celebrate the unique gifts God has given each student and challenge our students to develop those gifts and reach their fullest potential. Our purpose is to build a family that encourages the pursuit of knowledge and is guided by the service of God.
